What should you eat to reduce cholesterol ?

A new study conducted in Canada reveals that eating one serving a day of beans, peas or lentils can significantly reduce levels of bad cholesterol " (LDL ) in the blood - and thus reduce the risk of heart and blood vessels disease.
One serving of legumes , the researchers say , can reduce bad cholesterol by 5 % -6 % . The study is published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal .
The researchers tested 26 attempts audited earlier , which included 1,037 participants in total, and found that eating legumes lowers LDL cholesterol in men more than in women , may be due to the fact that their diet usually is less good and the cholesterol levels are higher in the first place so that they can earn more by changes in health .

Legumes - foods relatively cheap and accessible to everyone - have a low glycemic index ( foods our bodies slowly disintegrating ) and are able to reduce the influence of harmful fats such as trans fat .

Although some patients reported side effects such as bloating, gas and constipation associated to eating beans , but these disappear with time.

If so , the researchers say , it is worthy to increase the amount of legumes daily menu to enjoy the benefits related to our heart health .
